Shared workspaces from downtown to the Westside

Remote employees, freelancers and two-person startups in Santa Cruz need somewhere better than the kitchen table, and the city’s coworking spaces give it to them: membership floors in downtown office buildings, studios carved out of older industrial buildings on the Westside, and smaller shared suites near the Harbor and along the main corridors toward Capitola.

These spaces sell an experience as much as a desk. A member who finds coffee rings on the hot desk or an overflowing bin in the phone booth starts wondering what the monthly fee pays for. Steady cleaning protects the feeling that brought them in.

Open desks and lounge seating

Once members pack up, crews wipe every open hot desk and bench seat, along with monitor arms, desk lamps and the power strips people grab every morning. Task chairs are pushed in and their arms wiped. Lounge sofas and armchairs are vacuumed, cushions are straightened, and coffee tables are cleaned of mug marks.

Assigned desks are a member’s own turf. The crew works around the laptop, the plant and the stack of notebooks without shifting them, and a sweater or charger found on the carpet is laid on the chair instead of going in the trash.

Phone booths and meeting rooms

Call booths are tiny rooms with a lot of hands in them. Glass gets cleaned on both faces, the ledge and seat are wiped, fingerprints come off the pull handle, and the floor is vacuumed corner to corner. In conference rooms, crews clean tabletops and chair arms, dust screens and wipe remotes and conference speakers. A whiteboard gets wiped clean only if your team flags it for the crew.

Rooms booked for workshops or member events can be reset the morning after, with chairs put back in their usual layout.

The kitchen everyone shares

People gather in the shared kitchen to refill a mug and meet the person two desks over, so it has to look cared for at every hour. Counters, the sink, the coffee machine, the outside of the fridge and the microwave are cleaned, dishes are run through the dishwasher or put away, whichever your community manager prefers, and the floor is mopped. Our kitchen and breakroom cleaning page covers deeper kitchen work.

Coffee, tea, snacks and sparkling water can be bought and stocked for you through our pantry restocking service, so members never find an empty shelf on a Monday.

Restrooms, showers and bike rooms

Members who bike or run in before work lean on the restrooms and showers. Fixtures, mirrors, partitions and floors are cleaned, shower stalls are scrubbed, and toilet tissue, paper towels and hand soap are refilled every visit, using product we bring or what sits in your storage closet. The bike room floor is swept so road grit stays out of the hallway.

When members are in the building

Many spaces give members around-the-clock access, which makes timing matter. Visits can run early in the morning before most people arrive, or late in the evening once the floor empties out, and vacuums and floor machines are kept away from anyone still on a call.

For a busy floor, a day porter working daytime hours handles the kitchen, restrooms and meeting rooms between bookings. Carpet in open work areas gets periodic hot water extraction, and entry tile is cleaned through our floor care service.

Getting a plan in place

Members trust the building with their laptops and files, so each cleaner on the route is background-checked first. Quality inspections by a supervisor check the work, and we hand over a certificate of insurance that your operator can pass to the building owner. We are bonded and keep our crews on workers’ compensation. Share your floor plan, access hours and how members book rooms through our quote request, and someone from our team walks the floor with your community manager, free of charge. The written quote prices each area on its own line, so adding a floor or a row of private offices later only adds a line.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Will the crew move members' belongings on dedicated desks?

No. Whatever a member leaves on an assigned desk stays where it is, and only the clear parts of the desktop get wiped.

Some of our members stay until midnight. How does cleaning work around them?

The crew begins in the zones that have already emptied out and reaches the occupied corners last, holding off on vacuums and floor machines near anyone still on a call.

Can you also stock the coffee and snacks for our members?

Yes. Through pantry restocking we buy the coffee, tea, snacks and sparkling water and fill the shelves, either during the cleaning visit or on a run of its own.

We are opening a second floor next year. Can the plan grow with us?

Yes. Each area is priced on its own, so a new floor or extra meeting rooms are added to the schedule as they open.
