Coffee shouldn’t depend on a lunch-break errand

In many offices the breakroom is stocked by whoever notices first. The creamer runs out on a Monday, the sparkling water is gone by Wednesday, and someone squeezes in a store trip between meetings. Santa Cruz Janitorial takes that errand over. A member of our team buys the items your staff relies on, carries them in, puts them away and leaves the kitchen in order.

This is its own service, separate from cleaning. Book it by itself, or tack it onto our cleaning if you use us for that as well.

Teams it fits

Any team that shares a kitchen can use it. Downtown professional offices with a kitchenette tucked behind reception, coworking floors where members share one coffee counter, dental and medical practices with a small staff lounge, and retail shops whose employees eat in a back room all fit. A team of eight gets back the hour someone used to spend shopping, and a floor of eighty gets a kitchen stocked to the same standard from one week to the next.

How the first order comes together

Setup starts with a short walkthrough of the kitchen. We open the cupboards, look in the fridge and at the coffee station, and ask what disappears first. Out of that conversation comes a written order: each item, how many to keep in stock, and the particular favorites people would miss. That is also when we write down allergies and diets in the office, whether someone eats vegan, avoids gluten or dairy, or can’t be near nuts, so the order carries choices for them.

You name a spending cap for each month, and our shopping stays under it. When a wave of staff requests would tip an order over, we check with you first. Naming one person at your office to collect requests and approve changes keeps the back-and-forth short.

What goes in the cupboards

  • Coffee station: whole-bean or ground coffee, black and herbal tea, creamer and milk, sugar and sweetener packets.
  • Cold drinks: sparkling and still water, kombucha, juice and sodas.
  • Snacks: trail mix, dried fruit, crackers, granola bars, chips and whatever else your team reaches for between calls.
  • Serving basics: napkins, lidded hot cups, paper bowls and plates, and forks, knives and spoons.

Tastes shift, and the order shifts with them. Swap out a snack that nobody touches, add a second kind of tea or drop the sodas, and the next visit reflects it.

Visit rhythm, and the summer swing

Visit frequency follows how fast your kitchen empties. A small office often needs a weekly stop, and a busy floor gets visits closer together. Each stop runs the same way: older stock rotates to the front, dates get checked, the coffee corner gets topped up, cold cans and bottles fill the fridge, and the flattened cartons ride out with us.

Some employers add seasonal staff for the summer. Orders can grow and visits can come more often for those months, then settle back once the season winds down.

Every visit ends with a reset

No restock ends with boxes on the floor. Before we head out, tabletops and counters get a wipe, stray mugs leave the sink, the coffee corner is put straight, fridge shelves are sorted and expired items are pulled. Whoever wanders in for the next cup finds the room ready.

Alongside your cleaning

If you also have our office cleaning, the shopping drop-off can share a visit with the evening crew, so the kitchen is stocked and cleaned on one trip. A daytime stop works too, for offices that would rather have someone there to let us in. Counters, sinks, appliance fronts and floors get their thorough clean through our kitchen and breakroom cleaning.

For restroom paper, soap and dispensers, look to a separate offering, our janitorial supplies, which can follow the same calendar as your pantry visits.

Santa Cruz kitchens, from storefront offices to studios

An office above or beside a street-level shop may have a handful of staff sharing one small kitchenette.

A converted warehouse holding small makers and studios, or a light-industrial building that mixes tech offices with workshops, may have a bigger break room. Kitchens run from a single counter by the copier to a full break room used by every shift.

What sets the price

Most of what you pay is the food and drink itself, which never goes past your monthly cap. Our service charge is built from the headcount using each kitchen and the number of kitchens, then how often we come, which grade of coffee and snacks you favor, and the amount of tidying wanted per stop.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

We clean in-house. Can you still stock the kitchen?

Yes. You don’t need our cleaning to book it. Pantry visits are sold separately and stand alone just fine.

What happens when we have a team event or extra summer staff?

Tell us ahead of time and we’ll enlarge that order or add a visit, then return to the usual amounts afterward.

Can one building with several kitchens be covered?

Yes. We write a separate order for each kitchen, so a busy ground-floor break room and a quiet upstairs kitchenette each get what they use, all on one shared schedule.

Who approves changes to the order?

One contact at your office, often the office manager, collects requests and signs off. We buy only what that person approves.
